Employing Broker Associate-Owner
Carla’s Real Estate career began in 2004 when she became a Regional Director for Hines Real Estate Securities, a subsidiary of Hines Interest LLP, one of the largest private Real Estate Development, Management and Investment firms in the World. After working on the commercial side of the business with financial advisors and high net worth investors and learning a great deal along the way about the valuation of real estate, she decided to use that knowledge to develop a career in Residential Real Estate. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Western Kentucky University.
Carla works with buyer, seller, investors and those looking to move to the Denver area.
- “My objective as a Realtor is simple. I want happy clients, that means I have to be honest with them. Buying a home is typically the largest purchase a person will make in their life time and it can be very emotional. I’ve seen my buyers fall in love with a certain aspect of a home and be ready to make an offer when I crush their dreams by asking them if they really want guests using their master bathroom because it’s the only one on the main floor. I’ve had buyers want to overbid on a property because they are scared they won’t find one they like better, and I talk them off the ledge because, they will find one they love and I won’t let them overpay…because then they won’t be happy! Selling a home can be just as emotional, I know, I’ve sold serval of my own homes and I’ve taken every bit of negative feedback as a personal attack. I get that they don’t like a the purple paint I put in my office, but I didn’t have anything to do with the floor plan that “just doesn’t work for them”. I help my sellers detach themselves emotionally from their home and help them to understand they are selling a house. This is sometimes as simple as packing up their photos and painting the kids room a neutral color. I’m not heartless, I know it’s been their home and they want to sell it to a family who will take care of it and love it just like they did, but I also want them to get top dollar and be able to move from this “house” to their new home as quickly as possible. Every mortgage payment they have to make decreases their net profit! So like I said, my objective is simple, happy clients! I only work off referrals so if my clients aren’t happy with me, I’m out of a job.”
- I’m gathering up some photos…stay tuned!.

I can’t say enough good things about my home buying experience with Carla DeCew! She made the whole process easy, stress free, and most of all fun! She gives her honest opinion, guides you through all the steps, and most importantly will never let you over pay!
When it came time to put in an offer, I am sure that the rapport she built with the seller’s agent really gave me a leg up in this competitive market and is part of the reason they chose my offer. In this market you really want someone like Carla by your side helping give you an edge against other offers.
To sum it up, she knows her stuff and is a delight to work with. Win-Win!

- When I first moved to Denver I rented a super cute brick bungalow in East Wash Park. I had a golden retriever at the time and was told everyone who has a golden retriever lives in Wash Park! I loved everything about that neighborhood…walking my dogs around the park, shopping on South Gaylord Street, and dive bar cruiser crawls! I spent my first 2 years in Denver living in that house and I loved it.
My love brought me across town to a 1800’s Victorian in Historic Potter Highlands, a neighborhood within the Lower Highlands or LoHi neighborhood. 80211 is one of the hottest zip codes in Denver! You can find just about any type of home there…bungalows, victorians and modern new builds. The restaurant and bar scene can’t be beat.
After a couple of years, Paul and I decided it was time to buy a house that we picked out together. We ended up in the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood and it’s the perfect place for us! We bought a modern new build with a big lot and huge covered patio that we are able to use almost year round. It’s a little “slower paced” than LoHi but it’s a great neighborhood that’s walking distance to my office and nothings better than morning walks around the gorgeous lake.
I’ve been very lucky to have loved every neighborhood I’ve lived in…I’m not sure what’s next, maybe Country Club!
